The purpose of this account is to follow the progress of our family homestead. We re-located to Northern Alabama in November 2015 from Eden, New York, which is a suburb of Buffalo, New York. We wanted to start a homestead, grow plants, raise chickens, and become more self-sufficient overall. In the last 5 years we have made some progress on our homestead, we have chickens, a lot of blueberry bushes, and some gardens. We have also produced 3 children, which has kept us very busy. Now that our youngest is almost a year old we are pushing ahead on focusing more on the homestead. I will be challenging myself to take more chances and become more social media minded. I am a perfectionist at heart and hesitate to do anything for fear of not getting it right, I plan on working on that moving forward. So, here we go…
