We recently decided to try Butcher Box to save a little money on meat and we had a pork butt in our order. I had never tried cooking one before and I learned a lot. For example, a pork butt is not what I thought it was. It’s a cut from the upper shoulder of the pig. ??♀️
Growing up in the Buffalo, NY area I didn’t have much experience with making pulled pork. It wasn’t until we moved to Alabama that I started eating it on a regular basis.
I found a recipe for pulled pork tacos that looked interesting and it turned out really well. I liked that I could use a cast iron skillet to sear the meat and then put it right into the oven after covering it with foil. I may try a different spice rub next time, but I will definitely make it again.
